The Pastel Seas
As a child, I was enamored with the idea of space and the sea. They were two places that always made my heart flutter in excitement and wonder. The creatures of the sea danced in the currents of aqua waters, yet the silence was deafening, like the darkness of space.
As I grew older these treasured places no longer had a corner in my life amongst the textbooks, school peers, and teenage drama. I left my sweet childhood dreams behind and filled my life with the noise of the world.
During the summer, I was reconnected with these feelings, but I did not let life sweep them away this time. Instead, I held on steady, and have been exploring them intently in a series of dreamy pastel and metallic paintings, The Pastel Seas.
